Nindyo Sasongko

Nindyo Sasongko, Ph.D. is a systematic theologian and a scholar of Religion, ordained Mennonite minister, and educator based in New York City. He earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Fordham University, where he also served as a Teaching Associate, and currently serves as Theologian-in-Residence at Manhattan Mennonite Fellowship.

A native of Indonesia, Nindyo brings over a decade of pastoral experience in youth ministry and liturgical leadership, shaped by ministry in Indonesia, Ethiopia, and the United States. His academic work bridges Christian theology, philosophy, and comparative religious traditions, with particular attention to peace, political theology, intercultural theology, and postcolonial and decolonial critique.

His doctoral dissertation, “Intercultural Theology of Peace: Re-mythicising Peace beyond Kant through Raimon Panikkar” (defended January 14, 2026), critically examines modern liberal theories of peace and develops an alternative theological vision grounded in relationality, plurality, and lived religious worlds. A distinctive feature of his research is sustained engagement with Asian, especially Javanese and Southeast Asian, religious and cultural traditions as theoretically generative interlocutors.

Nindyo has published in leading international journals and presented his research across North America, Europe, and Asia. He is also a co-founder of Theovlogy Channel, a platform for accessible theological and public engagement.
